    Unnamed Sonic Forces AU:

    Page 1: A world map is surrounded by members of the Resistance from Sonic Forces. Knuckles the Echidna says, Yesterday, Silver reported a strange incident during his deployment. Cut to Silver on his mission, using his telekinesis to fling a car into robots. He flies into an abandoned, empty warehouse. Then he hears a noise and quickly looks in that direction.

    Page 2: In the corner of the warehouse, something shuffles behind stakes of crates. Silver cries, Show yourself! and grabs a figure with his telekinesis. Once he gets a good look at the figure, he freezes, then abruptly lets go. The figure looks like a ghostly silhouette of Sonic the hedgehog, floating with chains dangling from his arms and looking ominously over his shoulder.

    Page 3: Silver blinks and there is no one there. Then, with a boom the floor tears open beneath where the figure was. Silver cautiously goes to investigate the new hole, and finds several human and mobian prisoners, looking up at him in shock. In the present, Knuckles says, There were almost fifty political prisoners kept there. They'd been abandoned since the Death Egg blew up, for four days. He closes his eyes, pained. He says, We had no idea that prison existed. If Silver hadn't found them... Amy cuts him off with a determined face, saying, But he did, and the Chaotix are hacking what's left of the Eggnet to check for any others. With Eggman gone, it'll be a simple task. If there are other prisons, we'll find them. Pensive, Espio says, The real question is what Silver saw. It wouldn't make sense for Infinite to save prisoners; so if it wasn't an illusion, what was it? End comic.

    Page 1: Sonic the Hedgehog sits slumped in a cell on the Death Egg. His ear flicks when he hears footfalls. Infinite the Jackal stands outside, holding up a hand covered in Phantom Ruby energy.

    Page 2: Infinite snaps his fingers, and Phantom Ruby energy chains Sonic's hands to the wall. Sonic has bags under his eyes but he still smiles as he says, Eggy sent you to do his dirty work again? Your guys' batteries must be shit if they need recharged so often. Infinite glares down at him. With a clench of his fist, he sends pain crackling across Sonic's body. Sonic grimaces as Infinite says, You would do well to remember your place, wretch.

    Page 3: The pain intensifies, Sonic writhing as Infinite stares him down. The Phantom Ruby energy begins to drain Sonic's energy, brightening the lights of the Death Egg, while dark blue energy begins to leak from Sonic's wrist. Infinite stops the pain, and Sonic slumps. He sits stunned, nose bleeding. Infinite uses his power to step through the bars of the cell as he says, Pathetic. If only your friends could see you now. Sonic looks away, saying, They'll come for me. Infinite turns Sonic's head to face him as he says, They think you dead. You may as well be. Sonic, dismayed and exhausted, looks up at Infinite looming over him. The jackal says, You're going to die in this cell, alone. And your world will burn.

    Page 4: Sonic closes his eyes in resignation. Maybe I will, he says, but the world will be okay. My friends will stop you. Infinite responds, Your friends are weak. They fled at your demise. I will defeat them all. They will die by my hand or submit to my will like I subdued Shadow. Sonic smirks, saying, Please, I know that puppet you flaunt isn't Shadow. He's too strong to be pushed around by someone like you. Infinite lunges forward, grabbing Sonic by the neck as he says, Choose your next words carefully. Sonic looks up at Infinite in all his rage, pausing only a moment before saying smugly, You're like every villain who's tried to threaten the world, so impressed with your own power you don't see how weak you are. They all fell, and you will too. It's how it works.

    Page 5: Infinite looks down at Sonic's smug face for a second. Then he tightens his hand with a crack, snapping Sonic's neck. Infinite drops the body at his feet and stands still for a moment. Then alarms begin to blare, and his communicator goes off. What's going on down there? says Eggman's voice. All the power is shorting out!

    Page 6: Infinite says into his communicator, The prisoner was becoming irksome, so I disposed of him. Eggman shouts, You what? Do you understand what you've done? He was our main power source! I'll need at least four chaos emeralds to replace him! Infinite replies, He was a liability. The emeralds will be much easier to control. He walks away from Sonic's corpse while Eggman says, They'd better be! Now go find them. I have two, that should be enough to run the Death Egg on auxiliary power while sustaining crucial ground troops... Eggman's voice fades as Infinite turns his communicator off with a sigh. Then he continues to leave, unaware of the dark blue figure coalescing behind him.

    Page 6: Infinite lifts his hand, intending to walk out through the cell bars. A voice stops him, I wouldn't do that if I were you. A pale hand, leaking dark blue energy, grabs his wrist. Infinite whirls around, but sees nothing, only Sonic's corpse sprawled across the cell floor. From behind him the voice comes again, Over here. When Infinite turns he sees what is haunting him; Sonic the Hedgehog's ghost, seemingly in his Dark Super Form, floats above the ground, trailing chains from his wrists and surrounded by dark energy. I gotta admit, he says, you made good on the dying alone bit. Very proactive of you. The ghost smirks with blank eyes, saying, Allow me to return the favor. End comic.
